For my age rating i would give it a 15 and over this is because it will have high levels of violence and gore, the reason for me choosing the 15 age rating is because on the BBFC website they say "There may be strong threat and horror. A sustained focus on sadistic or sexual threat is unlikely to be acceptable.

Violence may be strong but should not dwell on the infliction of pain or injury. The strongest gory images are unlikely to be acceptable. Strong sadistic violence is also unlikely to be acceptable. There may be detailed verbal references to sexual violence but the depiction of sexual violence must be discreet and justified by context."

this is what they say about their perimeters for threats and violence. due to the fact that my film is based on the disaster genre there is due to be high level of graphic violence which leads be to believe that for the level of violence and gore the 15 rating will be the best one for my film.

furthermore being the age rating 15 will still allow me to target a large audience as i have capabilities of targeting the 15-17 groups but if i rated it 18 and over i will loose out on a 2 year age gap.
